How to create a sneaker with the sensation of an old car

This seasons tribute style from Shoe the Bear is made in respect and honour for theirr beloved Fiat Uno ʼ92, which

took them around the country of Denmark about 10 times before finally giving in last year. The

car was the size of a matchbox and the strongly faded red colour and always shining battery

lamp gave it that bit of extra charm. A style you just canʼt resist

Copenhagen Fashion Week

Last week notAbrand participated in the Copenhagen fashion week.

We kicked the week of at Fnubbu's store Belle Epoque on Nørrebro where designer Signe Møller Jensen treated us to both champagne and macaroons along with showing us the AW10 collection. Again this fall we can expect extravagant cashmere and wonderous silk from Fnubbu accompanied by the signature design.

But it will not be all fabric as Fnubbu is launching a collection of small boxes and notepads.

If you pass through Nørrebro we highly recommend passing by Belle Epoque where you can also find the lingerie and homewear-brand Afterwear which will definitely spice up your wardrope.

At Terminal 2 we visited the Shoe the Bear stand where Jacob and Thomas had gone all western/lumberjack. The theme fitted the fall season where both high tops and winterboots will be coming your way in numerous colours.

Also at the Cph Vision fair we ran into Trine from Misty May which we hope we'll be able to welcome at notAbrand this spring.

The Copenhagen fashion week was yet again a success and we look forward to visiting Stockholm later this week, and telling you all about it next week.

Trip to Berlin and Paris

Last week notAbrand had the pleasure of visiting both the Berlin and Paris fashion fairs.

In Berlin Studio JUX was showing their Fall/Winter 2010 collection at the sustainable fair the Key to. JUX designer Jitske showed off one of her favourite styles.

There were so many interesting brands and people in Berlin. Visiting both Premium, Bread & Butter, Jam Berlin, the Key to and Projekt Gallerie a lot of new brands for notAbrand were discovered.

At Bread and Butter especially super cool clog brand Maguba and eco friendly sportswear brand Sebola cought the notAbrand eye, hopefully both brands will be at notAbrand soon.

In Paris Anne Thomas was showing her new collection of ceramic jewellery, super nice as always (the "old" collection is on sale right now)!

And also for the girls I talked with shoedesigner Annabel Winship who creates stilettos to die for, we are keeping our toes crossed that Annabel will be selling through notAbrand later in 2010.

All in all it was a wonderful trip meating new as well as old friends!

Dutch watch brand Fromanteel has just launched their newest lines of watches for men. The three different styles are all limited editions and each watch is uniquely numbered. The watches are produced in Switzerland to ensure the highest possible quality. The design is classically modern.

Christmas bazaar at Trapholt Art museum

This weekend notAbrand went to Trapholt art museum, Kolding Denmark, to look for new designers and artists for notAbrand. There were so many great and exiting things that will hopefully be at notAbrand in the near future. One of the designers we really liked was textile designer Line Dyr. Line makes both a lovely interior collection as well as an “Electrosock” collection consisting of computer and mobile sleeves. Line primarily works with knit and the motives are inspired by a computerique pixellation.

We also met a notAbrand shopowner Stine Rønsch presenting her lovely crochet jewellery collection with some new editions.

Trip to Holland

Last week notAbrand went to Holland in search of new and exiting brands.

We started out in Amsterdam where we visited the people from JUX. On our walk about Amsterdam we met so many exiting new people. Tomas and Liza from OntFront, trendy menswear brand, Martijn and Alfredo from Fromanteel, cool watchbrand, and Linda fromDutchies, great bag and accessories brand were among the favorites. This week already we will be proud to present super trendy styles from OntFront at notAbrand.

In Arnhem we passed by the shop of sustainable clothing brand Van Markoviec and had a great chat with Mirjam from bag and accessories brand Berendsen/Van den Dungen. Also we paid a visit to the lovely shop "Coming Soon from Arnhem" which is a must when visiting.

On our last day we visited the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. We saw so many great, crazy and wonderful things, which was very inspiring. We also met ceramics designer Lenneke Wispelway who had made quite the show with the wondrous lamps from Paula Arntzen.

We are really looking forward to collaborating with our new Dutch friends and hope we'll be able to present them to you at notAbrand shortly.

She makes fashion too...

The designer behind ICH MACHE AUCH MODE is Danish Johanne Aarup Hansen. In 2010 she is to be an interaction designer from the Designschool Kolding. The bag collection is a handcraft related project to satisfy her more fashion related interest.

The Mobile-kat is a small bag to hang around the neck for the cell phone or the mp3 player. The bag is four colored and comes in various color combinations. The bags from ICH MACHE AUCH MODE are produced in Randers in Denmark at CBR, a social activation project with a high flexibility for people who doesn’t fit the general working market.

The bag project started with a fascination of the fabric and all its various colours. The idea is to create different bags with different functions, in interesting color combinations so everybody should be able to find a combination that fits to their cloths, style or mood. The colored bags doesn’t follow fashion trends but is created with the thought in mind that there should be a color combination for everybody. Each combination is produced in maximum 100 pieces.

New category - new shop

This week notAbrand has opened up for a brand new category: Furniture.

The first shop in the furniture category is Danish newcomer Morn Kwan.

Morn Kwan produces multifunctional mattresses, pillows, cushions and much more. Here an overview of the many possible usages for the design 23.

All products are made with the special filling kapok. Kapok is a tropical tree and the fibers for the filling comes from the fruit seeds. Kapok is especially popular for its properties, which include being allergy friendly, water repellant, fire resistant and self cleaning.

At notAbrand we have just added two new brands to our family.

Momo by Wahlgreen is a brand with its roots in the Danish design tradition. With the focus on knitwear, the combination of yarn, knitting technique, shape and colours is developed by the designer, Louise Wahlgreen, in the Copenhagen studio using old industrial knitting machines. The result is exclusive yet basic products for kids. momo by wahlgreen is a choice of high quality clothes bringing comfort, care and good feeling for kids at the age of 0-6 years. Each momo by wahlgreen piece is designed for long lasting and growing value as it is being used.

Studio JUX is a Dutch designer brand with clothing and accessories for men and women. The brand uses natural and eco friendly fabrics like organic cotton, bamboo, silk and cashmere. Most of the production takes place in Nepal, which is one of the five poorest countries in the world. Imagine what a difference you make by bringing employment to Nepal. Jitske Lundgren, the fashion designer of studio JUX, moved to Kathmandu to be present at the factories. She makes sure that your JUX piece is made in fair labor conditions. notAbrand in Paris

This weekend notAbrand went to Paris.

We visited the trade fairs Who's Next and Pret a Porter. There were so many exiting designers to talk to. We especially liked shoes from TREADZ, the lovely cashmere cardigans from Lucy Downes' brand Sphere One, as well and the lovely underwear from German brand Wundervoll.

Of course we paid a visit at the Bibi Chemnitz stand as well as the "soon to be at notAbrand" brand Jux from Holland.

We also loved loved loved the ceramic jewellery from French Anne Thomas as well as the super cool linen boots from French brand Como no.

We hope to be able to present you with some of the new brands soon at notAbrand.
